Lip blushing, also known as lip coloring, is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing procedure that enhances the natural color and shape of your lips. During the procedure, small colored pigments are carefully deposited into your lips using a mechanical needle. The treatment is completed over two sessions, with a 28-day healing period between them.
After the first session, you may experience a loss of 50-75% of the initial lip color. This is normal and will be addressed in the second session. The results of lip blushing typically last between 10 to 18 months, depending on your skin type and individual healing process.
The most common side effect of lip blushing is swelling. You may notice redness along the outline of your lips and swelling in the inner portion during the first week post-treatment. This is a normal part of the skin's regenerative process and typically resolves within 2-3 days. It may resemble the effects of recent lip fillers but rest assured, it is temporary and will subside as your lips heal.
